A Basket Full Of Wishes...

Well, it's hard to believe autumn is right around the corner... and only a few days left of summer... I thought I'd make one last card as we ride into cool weather...

I made this card using Jillibean Soup's - Blossom Soup & Watermelon Gazpacho Collections... plus the Jillibean Soup Unity Stamp - Basket Full of Wishes - - which I am sooooooo loving.... and of course my cloud die-cut from... Papertrey Ink...

I'll be linking this card (and a few others) to Paper Issues "Tree Hugger" theme... It's pretty much 'anything goes' as long as you use paper.... which mean I'll also be linking this card up to The Squirrel And The Fox and Cute Card Thursday... with their 'anything goes' challenges too.

Thanks for dropping by to see what I've been up to. Hopefully something here inspires you to play with your paper stash! Have a lovely day!

Creepy Pumpkin Card...

Hello Monday - -  I hope your weekend was eventful.... I did a bit of cleaning and packing up a few boxes to move furniture - bookshelves, dressers and chairs... so I didn't get as much crafting done as I would have liked... but with the time I had I made a few cards.

Today's card is made with the sketch with the sketch #39 from Cardabilities. I'm also entering it in a couple of 'anything goes' card challenges from... The Squirrel And The Fox and Cute Card Thursday.... and a halloween challenge at Sew Many Card Challenges....

Ok, ladies... that's it for today... I'll see you tomorrow... Thanks for stopping by...

childhood toy??? This is our new challenge for TAAFOMFT. I love this challenge... because I knew right away what toy, even what photo I was going to scrap... Rainee with her doggie. We've had doggie since she was a year and a half. We found him right before Christmas... when I was doing some last minute shopping at Kmart... and to keep her happy we went in the toy section to find a toy to keep her occupied while I got what I needed. She played with a few things, but little did I know, the moment she saw doggie it was all over ... we weren't leaving without him.

He was a cute little guy... and he was keeping her happy. But the moment it came time to put him back.. she wasn't having it... she wasn't letting him go. I tried telling her it was his bedtime and he needed to go to sleep... even a store employee joined in to help me get doggie to bed... but she wasn't having it, if she had anything to say about it. She wasn't letting him go... he was coming home to live with us! So like any good mother would do, who has a crying child... I caved. What??? With the tears flowing... her sad little face starring at me... I had to buy him. Once home, the only thing she was interested in was doggie... Christmas came and went, with lots of other toys, but doggie was it. She was only interested in one toy... doggie... she wouldn't let him out of her sight... he went everywhere with her... he was her constant companion... at breakfast... nap time... lunchtime... bath time... reading books... bedtime... it didn't matter what she was doing or where she was going... doggie was right by her side. He's been a good friend to her.

Since doggie came into our home... Rainee's had quite a few other favorite toys... but when she's really tied or has had a bad day... she always turns to doggie for an extra bit of love... he'll always be her favorite... no matter what.

Now it's your turn to show us your favorite toy. We'd love for you to play along and check out what our very creative TAAFOMFT DT have chosen as their favorites. Whatever yours is, share it with us... on a scrapbook page, a card, a mini book or project. We can't wait to see what you create!

What's Your Favorite...

thing about Spring??? This is our new challenge for TAAFOMFT. There are so many thing I love about Spring... but I chose the two thing I enjoy the most... flowers and butterflies.... seeing flowers blooming everywhere, and watching butterflies flutter all around... is, for me, the perfect picture of Spring. For this challenge I made my own little flower seed packet... then added some of the tissue paper flowers (from my tutorial) and used one of the pretty little butterflies from K&Co.

Now... tell us what your favorite thing about Spring is... we'd love for you to play along with us and check out what our very creative TAAFOMFT DT have chosen as their Spring favorites. Whatever yours is... we'd love you to share it with us... on a scrapbook page, a card, a mini book or project. The prize for this challenge is from Gecko Galz will be a $20 gift certificate to use for any products on their website http://www.geckogalz.com/ . Gecko Galz products include ephemera, paper sets, alphabet soup, digital stamps, project kits, cd collections of their papers and ephemera, and fripperies (glitter, ribbons, and antique pearl buttons). SketchyThursday & The Butterfly Release...

After enjoying such a wonderful day with Rainee, I couldn't wait to scrap this memory.... and this week's sketch from SketchyThursdays was perfect for these photo!! I loved being able to use so many photos... because I know if I tried I wouldn't have been able to pick only a couple to scrap...

And for the photos... instead of using a color or a black&white for this layout... I did a bit of Photoshop-ing to make the butterfly the emphasis in color and the rest of the photo in black&white. I love love love this effect. I don't use it very often... but when I do... I remember why I love it so much... somehow it makes the photos even more wonderful than they already are....

I have been wanting to use some of my newest stash of papers and die-cuts by Creative Imaginations... their new IOD line with the butterflies is beautiful... is fab!! How perfect is it with these photos?? love love love it! Anyway, thanks again SketchyThursdays for another wonderful sketch... it was perfect for all the photos I wanted to scrap!!! Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday...

The Happy Day...

Last week I was so busy with the last details for the Magnet EverydayFrame launch... that I didn't get much scrapping done... but this weekend... with the wonderful excuse of the National No Housework Holiday... I was able to do a few things... and this is layout is done with the sketch from SketchyThursdays... which I love love love...

I have been wanting to use this new Bazzil Dot Textured 2-tone core paper I found at Joann's... and this bright pink was perfect for an Easter page... it was so fun distressing it... I can't wait to use the other colors I bought... this was a great find!!! Then as I was putting the photos on... I decided to do something different... so with my Cricut (and my Gypsy) I made these fun Polaroid photo frames for the photos!!! I loved stamping little things about the Easter Egg Hunt on the blank part of the frames... too too fun!!! I love the look of Polaroids... & now that I have these saved on my Gypsy... I know I'll be using them again... and again... love them!

The photos are from the Easter Egg Hunt Rainee went on in Pre-K... 2 years ago... It's so nice to get some more photos scrapped so I feel somewhat caught up... lol... like I'll ever be caught up... ha ha!!! Well, that's it for today... I hope your Wednesday is one full of wonderful things!!!

You Found It...

Okay... here's another photo unscrapped... I'm realizing I have soooooo many photos yet to scrap it just isn't funny... I wish I could keep up with all the photos... but I can't! If anything scrapping older photos reminds me how precious our time together really is... because her life seems to be speeding along... I wish I knew where the time went... from this photo till now! So I'm going to enjoy our everyday moments together now... and as for the scrapping??? It will happen when it happens...

Sooooo... this photo is from Rainee's Pre-school Easter Egg Hunt. It was so fun watching her enjoy the thrill of finding each hidden egg. This was something different for Rainee... because either all her cousins grown or living in other states... so she's only enjoyed Easter Egg Hunt's with other kids a handful of times. Usually she's hunting for her egg's on her own. So this was a delightful moment... for her. I loved watching her excitement and laughter as she set out on this little adventure of hunting for these hidden treats. So sweet.

This layout is my take on this week's sketch from SketchyThursday... I made my own little chick with scraps and ovals... for the grass... I was going to snip some paper, but instead decided to use a bunch of different border punches... an some rick-rack to finish it off... kinda fun... I love it!!! I had a blast using Spring colors... they're so bright & cheery they make me want to go on a egg hunt!

Here's to another week... filled with things to do... and moments to share...hope yours is delightful!!!

Coloring Easter Eggs...

I don't know about you but I photos stacking up... and I just can't keep up with them all... and these are from our day of coloring Easter eggs with Rainee's best friend... when these girls get together... they always have the best time!!! I love watching their friendship grow...

Anyway for this layout, I used the SketchyThursdays sketch... they always have such fun sketches... and if you haven't tried them... you should! Ever since I saw my friend Deana use a pinwheel... I've been wanting to try it out... and this fun bright yellow Spring-y Easter layout was just perfect for it! I think pinwheels in general are so much fun... so I love it!!! And I have to say... I really really really love my cloud die-cut... Diana... thanks again for hooking me up with Papertrey Ink.... I can't seem to get enough of those cute little clouds!!!

Well, that's it for today... have a great Monday... and a delightful week!

Scary Fun...

I've been wanting to do some layouts with the photos from our trip to Universal Studios... I have so many it's hard to choose which ones to use... so I was going through them I knew I had to scrap this one!!! We were trying to get Rainee to take a picture with Frankenstein... because he's so tall and she's so small... Steve & I thought it would be cute... but she wanted nothing to do with dear Mr. Frankenstein... so Steve decided he's take a picture with him to show her he's not soooooooo scary... Well, even though she was laughing at daddy being choked by Frankenstein... and that he walked away unharmed... she still said... no way... no how... not gonna happen!!! So maybe next time we'll get a photo of them together... but for now... this is a great photo with a fun memory.

The layout is done with the sketch from SketchyThursdays. I also used this card sketch for the second challenge that SketchyThursdays is partnering with Jingle Belles.

What's Your Favorite...

Magazine? This is our new challenge over at TAAFOMFT!!! Over the years I've collected a lot of scrapbook magazines... and after Rainee was born, I accumulated every one I could get my hands on.... like... Simple Scrapbooks... Scrapbooking & Beyond... Memory Makers... Scrapbook Answers,... Scrapbook Trends... Creating Keepsakes.... and Scrapbooks etc. Some of these others are now gone... some are so beautiful, but way out of my budget... and others have lost features and editors I loved. So I find with Scrapbooks etc I get everything I want... there's something new every issue... and yet it stays consistent too, each time I open it!! I love it's monthly features... sketches, paper piecing and tutorials... you could say it's my go-to magazine when I'm stuck on a page. I love this magazine!

For my layout I decided to make the magazine my feature on my page... I took a cover from an old issue... put Rainee's photo in place of theirs... added my own journaling, covered up some things on the layout by adding my own tid-bits to make it my own... I couldn't think of a better way to feature my favorite magazine. Now for you... you have to have to have to go check out what the TAAFOMFT DT have done with this challenge... they will amaze you!!! We can't wait to see which magazine is your favorite... come share it with us on a card, layout or project...

Santa Visit...

I love watching Rainee and the enchanting excitement she gets when it's time to see Santa Claus every year... It's one of those delightful childhood things that makes the Holiday season special. Whenever she sees a Santa... she tells me he's not the 'real Santa'... and... When we go, we are going to see the 'real Santa' aren't we???  She knows which is which... and won't even think about tell anyone but the 'real Santa' all her Christmas wishes...

This year we had a difficult time getting to see Santa... with only one car... a motorcycle... and tons of rain... it meant Steve had the car most of the time to go to work... and every time we wanted to go... it always seemed to fall through... so when we were finally able to go... she was over the top excited... it was so fun to watch her... with every person that went inside, it meant we were that much closer... she was ready to explode... it was adorable!!! By the time we were able to go, she also had quite a list going... of course she'd wrote her letter with all her wishes... so when she saw him, I thought, she'd be asking for everything on it... but instead... all she asked for was a Wii... After, she told me she was too excited to say anything except that... cute!!!

I created this layout using the sketch from SketchyThursdays.... I did it a bit different... but I love how it turned out... such a great sketch....

What's Your Favorite...

Quote??? Is there a quote you read every day?? Inspires you? Motivates you? Whatever your favorite is... we'd love to know about it for our new challenge over at TAAFOMFT. I love to collect quotes.... when I find or hear a great one, I write it down... usually on a scrap piece of paper... which I then put a inside my quote book to be later transferred... So of all the quotes I have... and all of those which I love, this one is possibly  my most favorite...

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get."

I love that life is different to each of us.... and we never know what lies ahead. We never know what each year.... month... day... or moment will bring. Sometimes it's struggle... sorrow... joy... laughter... pure bliss... or love... but whatever life brings, it's different for each of us. And I love that although we may share the same experiences... our time for each experience can be different... with each moment and all the little bits... it makes them our own. I love that our lives can be new every morning.... and we never know what it will have brought us, until the sun has set. Life is beautiful and full of surprises!!!

I had such fun with this lo... I did some splattering... used my Copic markers to color my letter stickers the color I wanted... plus, I brought out some of my favorite stickers - the little bitty hearts - love love love them... and I finally used the chocolate stickers I've had for years.... on the chocolates I put a clear coat, so they now look good enough to eat...

So what is your favorite??? We'd love you to share your favorite quote with us.... in a card, scrapbook layout or a creative project. Our DT have chosen some wonderful quotes... you have to hop over to TAAFOMFT and see each of their beauties.

What's Your Favorite...

2010 Scrapbook Layout, Card or Project?? Is our challenge over at TAAFOMFT. I love looking back on the layouts I've done... I take pleasure in looking at the past year's memories and I'm always awe struck at the changes I see in my daughter and how much she's grown.

For this challenge I've chosen "My Little Bug" as my favorite layout of 2010. It's a favorite for many reasons.... I like how this layout came out... but I also love this photo of Rainee and I love love love  the memory attached to it!!

If you know my daughter at all you know she's a love bug. She at any time during the day is saying "Mommy, I love you!"... or is invariably asking for a hug & kiss... and I love love love it!!! It's one of those childhood things I don't ever ever ever want to stop. But I also know eventually as she grows older I won't hear those words quite as often or receive those hugs & kisses at the drop of a hat... so I'm cherishing every one of them now... I'm holding on them... because they are precious... and I don't ever want to take one of them for granted. So, for many many many reason this layout is more than just my favorite... it is also one of my most favorite things about my daughter I don't want to EVER end.

Okay, so what is your favorite??? What layout, card or project have you done this last year that every time you look at it, it takes your breath away... because of the design or the memories it holds. We'd love to see it!!!! So hop over to TAAFOMFT and share it with us!!! While over there you're going to love love love checking out what the DT has chosen as their favorites for this challenge from all the wonderful works they've done all year. Come on over... we'd can't wait to see your favorite!!

What's Your Favorite...

Celebrity??? What a fun challenge!!! All of us over at TAAFOMFT had such fun with it! I had a great time with this one. I was going to do just mine... but before I stared I thought it would be interesting to find out who my family favs were... I hadn't planned on scrapping all of them... but when I asked each one... they both said the same thing... "I have two... I have a favorite male and a favorite female... and I can't choose between them"... and when I thought about it... I did too! I couldn't decide which of ours I liked more... I loved all our choices... so decided it would be something different to do a layout with all of our favs on it! It will be amusing to look back on and see if our favorites have changed. Mine... probably not... Steve's either... but Rainee... I'm sure hers WILL change... and someday, when she looks back at her choices at 6 years old... she may be shocked!! So... as of today... 2010... my families favorite celebrities are....
Rainee: Joe Jonas & Demi Lavato
Steve: Diane Lane & Clint Eastwood
Mine: Sean Connery & Sandra Bullock

This was a delightful challenge!!! Now it's your turn??? Who is your favorite? Or do you too have more than one? And a must must must is seeing what our design team did with their favorites!!! They are wonderful... as usual!!! Some chose one... others couldn't decide on one... and others... well I think you need to check them out!!!! Go check them out and join us for this fav challenge... we'd love to see what your favorites are... over at TAAFOMFT!!!!

Super Strechy Pants...

As I was going through some photos... I found these... and they are just crazy-funny!!! Raine likes to make us laugh... and one night while doing several renditions of her silly antics... she walked out with her pants pulled high... Steve and I couldn't stop laughing!!! And all the while, dancing around saying... "I know these pants are stretchy... but this is ridiculous!! And I of course had to get a photo of it... to remember all the silly ways she likes to make us laugh... I love it!!!

I couldn't stop smiling as I did this layout with the sketch from SketchyThursdays.... love love love this sketch... Thanks ST... I had so much fun!!!
