For this layout, I used just a few of the Star Wars Miniature photos... and the sketch from SketchyThursday... I love how it turned out, but more importantly... Rainee loves it, and can't stop looking at it...
And for the photos... instead of using a color or a black&white for this layout... I did a bit of Photoshop-ing to make the butterfly the emphasis in color and the rest of the photo in black&white. I love love love this effect. I don't use it very often... but when I do... I remember why I love it so much... somehow it makes the photos even more wonderful than they already are....
I have been wanting to use some of my newest stash of papers and die-cuts by Creative Imaginations... their new IOD line with the butterflies is beautiful... is fab!! How perfect is it with these photos?? love love love it! Anyway, thanks again SketchyThursdays for another wonderful sketch... it was perfect for all the photos I wanted to scrap!!! I have been wanting to use this new Bazzil Dot Textured 2-tone core paper I found at Joann's... and this bright pink was perfect for an Easter page... it was so fun distressing it... I can't wait to use the other colors I bought... this was a great find!!! Then as I was putting the photos on... I decided to do something different... so with my Cricut (and my Gypsy) I made these fun Polaroid photo frames for the photos!!! I loved stamping little things about the Easter Egg Hunt on the blank part of the frames... too too fun!!! I love the look of Polaroids... & now that I have these saved on my Gypsy... I know I'll be using them again... and again... love them!
Sooooo... this photo is from Rainee's Pre-school Easter Egg Hunt. It was so fun watching her enjoy the thrill of finding each hidden egg. This was something different for Rainee... because either all her cousins grown or living in other states... so she's only enjoyed Easter Egg Hunt's with other kids a handful of times. Usually she's hunting for her egg's on her own. So this was a delightful moment... for her. I loved watching her excitement and laughter as she set out on this little adventure of hunting for these hidden treats. So sweet.

It's been nearly 3 years since these photos were taken... and it's not like I wanted to put off scrapping them... but I just haven't been inspired on how to scrap them... I couldn't figure it out .. plus, I have sooooooo many photos... one of Rainee with each of the characters... what to do??? what to use???....When it came right down to scrapping them... I only chose a couple with Rainee... I decided I wanted her to have a vivid memory of each character (because I know someday they will be gone), so I chose to scrap each character separate... which in the end is what Rainee is most excited about... yeah, for doing the memory so she loves it!
Since I've started this layout... Rainee's been playing with these guys non-stop... she hasn't put them down for days... and now with the new Kung Fu Panda movie coming out soon... I can tell you she's over the moon about the movie and playing with them again!!! She's so adorable to watch! I do have to say thank you to SketchyThursdays for the 'awesomeness' of this sketch... it really is what inspired me to use this collection of photos... I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to finally put this memory on a scrapbook page... so thanks you thank you thank you SketchyThursdays!!! As for Rainee... well, she's happy too... she loves looking at this page with all her little guys!
Last year, Rainee and her class had the best time, on St. Patrick's Day, looking the leprechaun who was hiding all around school... and who did a little "magic" with the Gold Beans they planted in the morning... which then turned into green lollipops when they came back to check on them... it was the cutest thing watching their faces full of surprise and wonder!!!! Rainee still talks about it... and can't wait for St. Patrick's day... she's hoping we have a little leprechaun visitor at our house this year!!! You never know it might just happen!!!
I used SketchyThursdays latest sketch... I put the flower on Popsicle sticks instead of a journal block... and in my Illustrator application, I made a heart for the leaves and used it as a text path for my little bit of journal-ing... and put Happy St. Patrick's Day in the other two heart/leaves... I've been wanting to do some layouts with the photos from our trip to Universal Studios... I have so many it's hard to choose which ones to use... so I was going through them I knew I had to scrap this one!!! We were trying to get Rainee to take a picture with Frankenstein... because he's so tall and she's so small... Steve & I thought it would be cute... but she wanted nothing to do with dear Mr. Frankenstein... so Steve decided he's take a picture with him to show her he's not soooooooo scary... Well, even though she was laughing at daddy being choked by Frankenstein... and that he walked away unharmed... she still said... no way... no how... not gonna happen!!! So maybe next time we'll get a photo of them together... but for now... this is a great photo with a fun memory.
This year we had a difficult time getting to see Santa... with only one car... a motorcycle... and tons of rain... it meant Steve had the car most of the time to go to work... and every time we wanted to go... it always seemed to fall through... so when we were finally able to go... she was over the top excited... it was so fun to watch her... with every person that went inside, it meant we were that much closer... she was ready to explode... it was adorable!!! By the time we were able to go, she also had quite a list going... of course she'd wrote her letter with all her wishes... so when she saw him, I thought, she'd be asking for everything on it... but instead... all she asked for was a Wii... After, she told me she was too excited to say anything except that... cute!!!
Well I had a great day!!! I put our Little Tikes Bouncer on Craig's List and sold it 2 hours later!!! Yeah! More money for Christmas!!! I was also able to get caught up on my laundry... go to Walmart get what I needed without a ton of people... went grocery shopping for dinner... plus I had a chance to work on my SketchyThursdays layout... yeah... at least I'm not late... I might still have a chance at those Copic Pens! And now... it's time for homework to get done... then I'll start dinner... I love it when a day goes smoothly... don't you??? It makes me a very happy girl!!! Until tomorrow... have a nice evening!!!
