The Terminator... I'll Be Back!...

I am such a movie person I can see movies I love... over and over... but when it comes to... The Terminator????.... I'm not a fan...  I enjoyed them once and would rather not see them again. But let it be a  3 day event on a random TV channel... and you will find my daughter and Steve glued to it... watching every one, over it again... like it was the first time they had ever seen it... they love the Terminator movies... and I totally get the 'love a movie' thing... cuz I have several I like to watch over and over again... but the Terminator??? Really???
So after the "Terminator Ride" we found the motorcycle from the movie.. now, since they are such big fans of the movie, I wanted to have Steve and Rainee take a picture together with the bike. But Steve insisted he take the photo of Rainee and I together. And well, how could I refused... I'm the picture taker... so being in one would be a treat! When we were on the motorcycle... Rainee and I decided to really get into it.... we pretended we were being shot at... explodtions were going off all around us.... and we were being chased by one of those alien robot guys... Rainee got such a kick out of it... and I have to admit... I enjoyed our 'ride' on the motorcycle... Then for about an hour after our 'ride' all we heard from Rainee was...."I'll be back!"... and... "Hasta la vista, baby!"... seriously... it was a kick!

Thanks for stopping by... here's to a fab Friday... and a relaxing weekend!!!

Baby... Baby...

Here's another baby card... I seem to have a lot of baby's being born lately!!!! I have one more to show you it just wouldn't uploads... so this is it for today.... I've always loved these baby pins I used on some of Rainee's baby pages... so with the left overs (I've had forever) I thought it would make a cute new baby card for my friend....

Well, that's it for today... hopefully I'll get the other baby uploaded another day... here's hoping your Thursday is delightful!!! See you tomorrow!!!

Scary Fun...

I've been wanting to do some layouts with the photos from our trip to Universal Studios... I have so many it's hard to choose which ones to use... so I was going through them I knew I had to scrap this one!!! We were trying to get Rainee to take a picture with Frankenstein... because he's so tall and she's so small... Steve & I thought it would be cute... but she wanted nothing to do with dear Mr. Frankenstein... so Steve decided he's take a picture with him to show her he's not soooooooo scary... Well, even though she was laughing at daddy being choked by Frankenstein... and that he walked away unharmed... she still said... no way... no how... not gonna happen!!! So maybe next time we'll get a photo of them together... but for now... this is a great photo with a fun memory.

The layout is done with the sketch from SketchyThursdays. I also used this card sketch for the second challenge that SketchyThursdays is partnering with Jingle Belles.

A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down...

Well after everyone left after our scrap night... and our house was sound asleep... Rainee woke up about 1am... sick! Since then... I've been taking care of my little one... poor baby! I was hoping the extra day off from school, for President's day yesterday, was going to give her enough rest... and she'd be back at school today... but her fever is back... and she woke up saying... 'Mommy, can I have another day off?... I'm still not feeling so good.' ... my poor baby... so today will be another day of rest and recuperating for my little Rainee. She'll be napping throughout the day and watching more of our favorite 'feel better' movies... and although Mary Poppins has been watched several times over the past 2 days... it will be watched again... it's one of our favorite 'feel better' movies.... it help the medicine go down...

So, if I have a chance today I'll try posting something from the weekend... but if not today... tomorrow. Hope you're all well... have a restful day!

Scrap Night...

Tomorrow I'm having friends over from my last job at the LA Times... It's been several months since we made a date to scrap and talk... we were doing in once a month... but we got off track... I'm hoping this gets us back on track. When I saw this Martha Stewart Valentine card making photo... I loved it... because it reminds me so much of why it's such fun to scrapbook with friends... the sharing of ideas, tools, recipes and stories... I love it... and I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!!!

So my crop questions to you are...
  1. Do you plan what you're going to do?
  2. Do you bring everything you have? Every embellishment?
  3. Do you ever get to a crop and forget anything?
  4. Do you do the base of your page & go home to put all the embellies on it?
  5. Do you make your food... or bring take out for the crop???
My answers...
  1. I try to plan at least a couple pages... with sketches... ahead of time so I'm not floundering.. I want to get some pages done... so I do plan ahead some pages.
  2. When I first started going to crops... I brought EVERYTHIG... but then at the time I didn't have much... and as my supplies grew... into a room... I couldn't take everything... I still take a lot with me... because you never know what you're going to need once there.
  3. Oh yeah... this happens to me all the time... the last time... I had to drive all the way home for several things... and it wasn't fun. :( I wasted precious scrapping time!!!
  4. Sometimes... but mostly I try to finish it while I'm at the crop... I don't want to go back and do it again later.... because I won't get to it for some time because I've moved on.
  5. Depends on my time and what's going on... but I always try to make something...

Valentine Giggles...

I brought out some old photos of Rainee... that I had to scrap!!!!
I love these photos of Rainee... they are some of my most favorites of her as a baby!!! To this day... I love watching her and her belly full of giggles... it's one of the best sounds in the world!!!

These photos are from her very first Valentine's Day... and of course, me being a new mom, I had to buy her the cute little
I ♥ U Valentine outfit.... with hat!!!! I remember this day like it was yesterday... the three of us spent the day at Victoria Gardens... shopping and having lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. At lunch Rainee was having the time of her life... giggling... we couldn't get her to stop... but then who'd want to... those baby giggles are so precious!!! I love baby giggles... their joy overflows and brings a smile to everyone around! I will always remember this super-fun-full of giggles Valentine's Day...

Our Day...

Rainee didn't have school on Valentine's Day, so we spent the day together as a family... it was a relaxed day... we had lunch at Santa Monica Seafood... then we went to the beach. Rainee had no idea where we were going... but as we got closer to the beach, she got this big grin on her face and said... "I know where we're going... I can smell it... we're going to the beach!!!" She was super excited!! It was nice 76Âș with a slight breeze... it was a great day to run around and play at the beach. She was a bit disappointed when we told her she couldn't go in the water... but she content chasing after birds and making crabby patties and a lovely square bite size sand cake... we had a great time!!! On the drive home... both Rainee & I took a little nap from all the fresh air and running around... it was quite a nice day... spending it together as a family on Valentine's Day!!!

Hope yours was spent with those you love....

What's Your Favorite...

Magazine? This is our new challenge over at TAAFOMFT!!! Over the years I've collected a lot of scrapbook magazines... and after Rainee was born, I accumulated every one I could get my hands on.... like... Simple Scrapbooks... Scrapbooking & Beyond... Memory Makers... Scrapbook Answers,... Scrapbook Trends... Creating Keepsakes.... and Scrapbooks etc. Some of these others are now gone... some are so beautiful, but way out of my budget... and others have lost features and editors I loved. So I find with Scrapbooks etc I get everything I want... there's something new every issue... and yet it stays consistent too, each time I open it!! I love it's monthly features... sketches, paper piecing and tutorials... you could say it's my go-to magazine when I'm stuck on a page. I love this magazine!

For my layout I decided to make the magazine my feature on my page... I took a cover from an old issue... put Rainee's photo in place of theirs... added my own journaling, covered up some things on the layout by adding my own tid-bits to make it my own... I couldn't think of a better way to feature my favorite magazine. Now for you... you have to have to have to go check out what the TAAFOMFT DT have done with this challenge... they will amaze you!!! We can't wait to see which magazine is your favorite... come share it with us on a card, layout or project...

New Baby Card....

Happy Happy Friday... If I'd not told you... recently I've been on a card making frenzy.... and this cute little baby card is going to a friend. Isn't that baby face just the cutest??? I've had these stamps foreverrrrrrrrr..... and whenever I need a baby card... they are my go-go stamps for baby card..... I love them... they always seem to inspire me to do something new with them! Love that!

Something new you didn't know about me is... I've worked for a 2 different rubber stamp company's and while working there I accumulated a ton of stamps... at one time, I had 10... 6" deep x 16"x 9"drawers - with 5 levels of stamps in each drawer... so I had a lot of stamps... but when I go married my husband and I both had to downsize a few things... at first I did let go of quite a few... but over the years I've let more go...  now, I'm down to 2 of the same drawers... with the same 5 levels... but that's not including my books... and books of flat acrylic stamps. Of those which I kept... these two of my favorites!

Thanks for skipping by... have a super weekend!!!

Bug'em... Bug'em... Bug'em... Valentine...

Bug'em... Bug'em... Bug'em... When I saw this, Halmark Bug'em Ladybug, at the store I knew I had to have one for Rainee... It's completely adorable!!!! This cute little guy zips open so you can put fun thing inside it...

So, since February 1st, I've been giving Rainee little Bug'em Valentine gifts every day... and every day it's something different... like little love-coupons or tickets to the movies, a bag of her favorite cookies... but mostly it's been sweet little card like this one... with a little treat attached. I've been having so much fun coming up with little things each day... and Rainee... well, she's enjoying the extra bits of love... she can't wait to get up and see what her little Bug'em has for her each day...

Well, that's it for today... have a fabulous Thursday... see you tomorrow!

Homemade Valentine Gifts...

Steve gave me the CakePop book for Christmas... and since then I've become a huge fan.... I love how I can make a cake... use what I want and freeze the rest for another time... it's so great. I'm starting to get pretty good at it! I really wanted these hearts to be replicas of the conversation hearts, but my edible pens, weren't cooperating... so I'm leaving some plain and some with sprinkles.

Along with the Heart CakePops... Rainee's wants to give her teacher some of her favorite Valentine treats... Valentine Chocolate Kiss Roses. These are something I've been making... well, for about 15 years.... and something Rainee asks for every year... Rainee loves loves loves them....  We haven't decided how we're going to arrange them yet... with ribbon... a 'flower' box... a vase.... or wrapped in tissue... however they are arranged... they will be a beautiful teacher Valentine bouquet. And Rainee... she's having a blast helping with everything... and she can't wait to give her teacher her Valentine gift...

Just Wanna Bug You Valentine...

Good Morning Monday!!!! Hope you enjoyed your weekend... and hopefully you were a Green Bay fan... so your team won the SuperBowl... if not... I hope you didn't lose a lot a money and you're over it now that Monday is here and you can have a great week... As for me... I'm still sick... didn't sleep all night... tried, but it just didn't happen... BUT right now I'm ready to nod off... so I'll make this short....

Along with resting this weekend... well as much as I could... Rainee and I made her class Valentine's Day cards... I have to say they are fun!!!! I printed the pieces... cut out everything... but but but... Rainee put them all together... from the background paper to the ladybugs... she did it all... all by her self... and her comment..."I love my Valentine's... I love scrapping... this is so much fun... I think I'm going to be a scrapper just like you"... and when she was done... she wanted to scrap some more... it was the cutest!!!

So here is her Valentine's... I had wanted to do something fun... so when I saw these heart shaped chocolates in the store... they reminded me so much of ladybugs.... I just went with it... I made a sample... and Rainee loved it... so it was a go with the Valentine!!! It was such fun watching her put them all together... we both love how the came out...

Well that's it for today... now I'm off to sleep and try to feel better... see you tomorrow!!!!

Happy To Be With You...

Happy Friday!!! When I sat down to scrap yesterday... I had every intention of doing a few layouts... but I got caught up in making Valentine's Day cards instead... Here's the first one and I'll show you the others next week...

As you can see I'm still madly in love with those CI lady bugs...  they are just too too cute!!! I'm still in love with my Martha punches... this one has become a real favorite.... and lately I've found myself really enjoying ripping up some old books and using them on my cards and layouts... just love the look they give to a project!!!

As for my weekend... I'm hoping to feel better... I caught a really nasty cold this week... and I'm down for the count today... home sick... stinks! I'm hoping to feel this weekend so I can work on some layouts... cards... Rainee's school Valentine's Day Cards... and the little project Rainee's teacher has given me... oh and how can I forget... it's Super Bowl Sunday... so... who knows what will actually get done with football... food... and fun!!!

Cupcake Cuties...

Rainee & I are really looking forward to our annual Valentine's Day Party... We haven't decided what we're going to decorate this year... cookies or cupcakes... but whatever it is, I know the girls will have a delicious time. These scrumptious cupcake photos are from last year's party.... I've been so busy with training and starting my new job, I wasn't able to do the 1.20 sketch from SketchyThursdays... but I loved it so much and thought it worked perfectly with these photos.

Have a happy Thursday...
