Boo-tiful YOU Layout & Halloween Cards

The BOO-tiful LO from the latest YouTube Video... Plus...

Rainee wanted to send your cousins and her papa a Halloween card so we sat down and made a couple...

The spiders are circles punched from card stock with googley eyes and we put them on that great Martha Stewart Spider Web Felt Ribbon. Legs with the circle punch just like we did in the video.

The mummy is black chipboard, covered with medical gauze strips and stickers for the eyes!

She had fun doing them. Super easy!

New adventure...

As of yesterday, I am now a full time 'stay-at-home-mom'. This is something I've been praying about for a while... Since January our company (The Los Angeles Times) was bought out by a billionaire... and with so many things changing... I didn't want to continue working for a company who didn't care about people - and just - - the bottom line...MONEY!

If you've read any of my previous posts... the changes weren't great... my life was turned upside down... it effected not only me, but my family... so much so that I've been in the emergency room and on stress leave.

So while on stress leave my big boss calls me to find out if I'm still interested in the buy out... I said yes... and thinking it's going to happen when I go back to work next week... she calls to tell me it was happening now... while I was on the phone with her...

It was a bit of a shock... but definetly a blessing...

So now we see what the Lord has in store for us... definetly staying home with Rainee... and doing some freelance... and hopefully doing something more with scrapbooking... but who knows what the day or should I say what 'everyday moments' can bring...

All I know right now is... I'm thrilled to be a sahm...

A new member to our family...

So is morning when Rainee woke up the first thing she said was,
"I'm going to get a dog today mom!"
and of course I said,
"Go talk to your dad." and he said,
"Yeah, we can check that out today"...
I didn't think Steve was really serious, and I don't think he actually thought we'd find one TODAY... but it happened.... after months of prayer and looking for the right dog... we finally got a dog today! His name is Champ... he's a Lab and Rainee is in love with him... and of course I had to share my newest photos of her with Champ... and I have to say they are adorable!!

Fun, Funky Sticky Note Photos - Everyday Fun!!!

So I was reading this great magazine 'Family Fun'... and they always have something fun to do... and in the October issue... they showed how to do a spooky photo with your 'trick or treaters'

First, cover your camera's flash with a COLORED STICKY NOTE. Then take a photo with the flash... and it will take on the hue of the paper... You can do this in a dark room, at night with just the flash or to get another effect add an additional light source... like a... flashlight, pumpkin, table lamp, candles... or the sunlight from a window like I did with Rainee's Batgirl photos...

It's fun to see what happens and the kids get a kick out of it... Rainee was looking everywhere in for different colored stickies. Wanting to try it over and over again with her oldcostumes...
it was a fun little photo shoot... lots of giggles & very colorful...

Try it... you might just have a new way to photograph your little ones this year.

Okay, we're not your typical Las Vegas goers... we usually go during the week and always go for time away, to relax and the great FOOD... and we never gamble... silly huh?
