Sketchy Thursdays Cards...

I enjoyed the Sketchy Thursdays card this week so much... that I did two cards!!

On this first one I decided to do a little daisy bouquet... it's something I've been wanting to do awhile with these cute cute cute daisy's... it was so fun making this card... I'm glad I was finally able to do this cute bouquet!!!

On the second card, I found some leftover scraps of this great Little Yellow Bicycle XO paper... so of course I had to go with it... I know it's not Valentine's Day and it's not my anniversary... but I just loved this paper! On all the chipboard I used the technique from my EverydayScrapbook Adhesive Embossing Video.... I love this technique... it gives the chipboard a great crackled effect. Rainee loved this card so much she's decided I should put it in her lunch box!!

Don't forget there's still time to do a card with the Creative Imaginations August Card Sketch... just post it in the CI Gallery ... you never know you might just win a great prize package!!! Well that's it for today... hope you have a super day!!!

Website/Blog??? This is our new challenge over at TAAFOMFT (These are a few of my favorite things)... And the inspiration from our design team is well.... wonderful!!! My list of favorite websites/blogs could go on forever... there are so many places... it's amazing what we have at our fingertips with the internet... it brings anything I'm interested in right into my home for me to enjoy!!! Love love love that!!!

For this challenge I thought I would do our EverydayScrapbook YouTube Channel... it's the first internet thing I'd done... so you could say it's my other little baby... PLUS doing them with Rainee makes them that much more special!!! The videos started because Rainee wanted to know what I was doing... and she's always wanting to do whatever it is I'm doing... so I thought it would be fun to do a video of us doing projects together... and so began our EverydayScrapbook YouTube Channel. It's us spending time together scrapping, laughing and having fun... I love it!!! It is one of my favorite places on the internet!!!

Our prize for this challenge... is from Julie!!! She's offering a $25.00 store credit to Flamingo Scraps!! One of her favorite places to shop!!! You seriously need to check them out...they are fab!!! I for one can't wait to see what you create for this challenge... you have until July 28th to link your fav website/blog project... and remember it can be anything... a CARD.... a LAYOUT... a MINI BOOK... an ALTERED ITEM... anything you want, to show us your favorite!!! Doily Envelope Video

I haven't done a video in awhile... It's funny to me how when I was working full-time plus had all the responsibilities I do now, I actually got more videos done than I do now as a stay-at-home-mom/freelance graphic designer... you'd think I'd have more time somewhere??! Anyway, even though I love doing them, I guess any video getting done, when I have a chance... is better than no videos at all... right??!!??...

After showing you these fun little envelopes last year... I had so many requests to do video on these cute little envelopes... I just had to do one. So yeah, for the new Doily Envelope video!!! These little envelopes are one of my favorite Valentine, or any {day}, things. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved making them... I just love little girly things!!! Since then, I've made them for special occasions or just because... they're great to put on a wedding gift... perfect for wedding or baby showers... I've used them on projects like my Valentine Window (here)... on some of my scrapbook layouts... on cards... but my all time favorite uses are putting them in my husbands work shirt pocket and in Rainee's lunchbox with little love notes just for them!!

The great thing about these doily envelopes is once you know the basics of how they're made, you can make them with just about any kind of paper doily.... heart, square or circle. Along with the video, I've also made a download-able .pdf (3x3 or 6x6 heart doilies) for those of you who'd like it. I hope you enjoy making them and find some fun new ways to use these cute little doily envelopes...

Halloween Treats Video...

I've been a bit out of it this week... Rainee has been out sick... and it's been hard doing pretty much anything... I'm so thankful she's better now and back to school! This week, while she was taking her naps... I was able to get this Halloween Treat Video together... yeah!!!

I don't know about you, but I'm a huge fan of purple and orange together for Halloween... even more thank the traditional orange and black... it's just so cheery and festive. This Halloween Treat project can be done in any color you like... you can give it to someone special or do a bunch of them for your child's class party! I've made templates for you to download. I've also made a sheet of the "Beware & Warning" for you to download ... just something fun for this project or for something else you'd like to use them for!!! This is simple little thing to do... but it sure makes a treat extra special!

Enjoy the video and as always... I love hearing your comments! Have a super spook-tacular day!

P.S. A little side note... I've started participating on another blog... Inspirational Tip, Techniques & Tutorials... There are a ton of great things over there and I'm happy to join in... check it out you're going to love it!!!

Her Smile... Plus A New Video!

Who can turn the world on with her smile...

Well I did say...I still had another idea for the 'Mary Tyler Moore Show' theme song... Rainee's Smile. I love love love Rainee's smile. I love how when she's really happy, her eyes sparkle. I love her dimples... I love the gentleness of it. It never fails to makes me smile. I love it most when it's just for me. So of course I couldn't let those delightful lyrics go by without making a layout of Rainee's smile.

I know... more butterflies... What is it about butterflies, that makes my heart happy? Maybe it's their dainty fluttering's remind me of Rainee dancing around the house... whatever the reason... I love butterflies. When I finished this layout... it didn't seem finished... I needed something subtle to catch the eye, but not over take the empty space, so I decided to make concave butterflies in the space. It's such an easy technique that when I was finished I decided to make a video of how to do the concave butterflies... or for that matter, any chipboard shaped image for a card or scrapbook layout. I love this delicately implied effect and how it finished off my layout.

For this Concave Image Technique Video, I used butterflies and I love how they delicately flutter upward on the card. On the set of cards, I've shown this technique using other shapes, plus using an embossing template. The thing I love about this concave image technique is, it's so simple. I do have a little bit of advice is when doing this technique... take your time... and be gentle with your paper, so you don't push through the other side. Do these two things, you will be happy with this concave technique every time. I hope you'll try this technique on your next projects...

A Very Productive Day!

Wow! I'm feeling better! Yeah... and yesterday was a great day!!! I was able to get the house cleaned, finish the last of the laundry, go swimming and play with Rainee. Plus I went shopping at Joann's... yeah, I think I'm on the mend!!!

Don't you hate it when you go to a store and want to buy what's on your list... and then... you see something... well that's what happened to me at Joann's... I went for cardstock... they're on sale...
5 for $1.00! Yippee!!! But I also found some new cardstock they've just started carrying... and it's awesome... it's Core'dinations. I've always loved white core cardstock... but this... this has different
core colors.... and they're fab! I'm excited to use them... the colors are just soooooooooo yummy!!!

As for the rest of my Saturday... I also was able to get a layout done. This lo, should have been done a couple of weeks ago... it was suppose to be for a scrap challenge at ScrappingTheMusic with the theme song from the 'Mary Tyler Moore Show'... I have always loved this song, AND I just couldn't decide on what lyrics to use... so I decided I should do a few lo's with this song. But for now this is my 'Mary Tyler Moore Show' lo... I'll be doing another lo sometime soon...

I'm looking forward to doing more things now that we're pretty much settled. Right now I'm just happy I have a new video done!!! Yeah!

Everyday Blog Candy - from Flower Card Video

Well, I for one am very excited about the Everyday Blog Candy for this month... they are 6 packages of Jen Wilson's new "Laundry Line" {letting it all hang out!} clear stamps collection. They are so fun... and of course because I thought they were so adorable - I had to buy some for myself. I'll be showing you what I do with them some time soon. But for now... I hope you all like the new video and the fab Everyday Blog Candy...

We'll pick a winner next week Friday, March 27th.... so GOOD LUCK!!!

EverydayScrapbook Flower Video!

Well, the newest video is finally finished... and once I had it done I couldn't understand why it took me soooo long to get it out. But with lots of new and wonderful things going on here at our house... everything has taken a different priority... so my attitude is - when it gets done... it gets done!

Anyway, I love this project, and I love hearing from you, so let me know what you think!

Happy day!

A Tweet Little Card

I've been getting things back to normal here. With 2 weeks worth of stuff to catch up on... plus add in the normal every day stuff... it's amazing how long it's taking to catch up from when Rainee was sick.

I've been working on the new video, it should be out this week sometime. I've also been working on some freelance jobs which have kept me busy. But I did have time to make a 'tweet' card for a friend. I really like how it turned out...and thought I'd share it with you before I mail it off.

I also wanted to share with you a fun quick tip for adding a frosted effect to your ghost embellishments. Get out your handy dandy emery board (or sand paper) and sand the back side of the ghost embellishment. It gives a great frosted effect to the ghost images... I just love this effect.

Well, I have to do a bit of bragging on my cousin MaryJo. For a Valentine's Day gift to her mom, she made a Waxpaper & Crayon Window ... and can I say it's FABULOUS!!! So, when she emailed me a copy of it, I of course I just had to share it with you....

If you want to know how she did her window, you can go to my YouTube Video and make one for yourself. It really is very easy and very fun!!

Great job MJ... I love it!! It really is fab!!!

After being in the work force for so many years, I hope this will help me get more accomplished than I have been in the last few months. Anyway, it's finally here! Whooo Hooo!!! But boy has it been a dilly of day trying to get it uploaded! I've been trying to upload it since 5am and it just didn't want to work for some odd reason... so can I say... Yeah!!! It's done!!!

Video - Flower Punch Christmas Tree Card

Lately, I've been on the prowl for a great dimensional Christmas Tree sticker... and when I couldn't find it I decided to make my own... but with what??? So, on the scrapbook night with my friends, a few weeks ago, I tried something with my flower punch. It was just what I wanted... well, almost.

So these last couple of weeks I've been perfecting what I wanted. So now, when I do a scrapbook page I'll be able to use this idea... but for the video I thought it best to show you how to make the flower punch Christmas Tree, by making a quick card.

I love the dimension of the tree. It takes a bit of patience and time... punching, sanding, glueing, but the end result, I think, is really nice. Then great thing about this tress - is you can make it any size you want... large... small... or teeny-tiny. It's really up to you and what you want to use it for... so have fun trying it out.

This is classic...MOM!

My friend Vicki sent me an email with the greatest video attached... this is classic MOM! The moment I saw it I couldn't stop giggling... I remembered my mom... and yet even somewhat scarier - doing exactly what my mom did... even when I said I wouldn't become my mom!!!

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I thought I'd share this with you... It may be about 'mom', but it reminded me of being thankful and having family. I'm thankful for my family... daughter, husband, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, dad and mom... enjoy your family this Thanksgiving!

So, whether your a mom or not... I hope this makes you giggle!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gingerbread Card & Pin

Since I haven't posted a video in awhile I thought it would be fun to also do a Holiday Card along with the Pumpkin Patch Video...

These gingerbread men pins are something I've done for years... So, when I started thinking about doing them again this year my mind went on overdrive to see how I could incorporate them into a card... and this is what I came up with!!!

My thoughts were to put these cute little gingerbread men on a plate... for Santa! So here is my interpretation of it! And I think they turned out just "YUMMY"... tee hee!!

So instead of waiting I thought I'd share my "Gingerbread Man Card & Pin" video with you all right away!!! I hope you like it as much as I do and you'll try making some for someone this holiday season. If you do please let me know how it turns out… and send me links to your pics!

Happy Holidays.

I love this gingerbread stamp, I had it since 1993... they don't make it anymore but if you go to either ebay and type in gingerbread man, or go to this stamp artists website (www.printworkscollection.com)... you might just find something you like...

Pumpkin Patch Layout

I know it's been a bit since I posted a video, but I've had a hard time getting use to being home and I'm trying to figure out a schedule that will work - doing everything I want and need to do. So, I'm sorry I'm a bit behind, but everyday life can sometimes get away from you.

This layout was done with last years Pumpkin Patch photos. Yes, I'm behind on my scraping, but hoping to get more done now that I'm home. Don't know if it will happen... just keep hoping!

I love these photos of Rainee... she looks forward to going to the PP every year... it's a tradition... She loves riding in the wagons, picking the perfect pumpkin that's just right for her. Then we enjoy all the fun things there are to do... horsey rides, feeding the goats, rabbits, pigs and ducks. And then of course there is the BIG BOUNCERS... she always has a blast!!!! We don't have much a fall here in California... no beautiful fall leaves, and sometimes it takes awhile for it to even get that nice crispness in the air... so the pumpkin patch is generally our big fall outing as a family. Definetely something to look forward to!

Hope you have a wonderful fall season. That you take time to enjoy the leaves, the pumpkins and the crisp weather.

Happy Fall!

EverydayScrapbook - Sticker Video

Well, after playing with my daughter last night... eating dinner... and making (Slenda) chocolate cupcakes... I realized we still hadn't done the video intro... Rainee really didn't want to do it, until I brought out my macBook to do the video intro with and then she got really excited... so after several takes... because we were both tired... and Rainee had the hick-ups... we finally got it done and I finished it this morning - - I did the video instead of exercising...

So, I've rambled enough... here's the link to YouTube...
