Joan's Mom...

In the last 3 weeks I've had 3 wonderful souls go home to the Lord. My dear cousin, my father-in-law and now my dear friend Joan's mom, who passed away on Friday. Thank you so much for you prayers for my husband, his family... and these other families in my life... it really is much appreciated.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

Thoughts and prayers of the Lord's peace and comfort!
I know the sadness of your losses all too well - my father in law, both my grandmothers and an uncle went home to be with the Lord within days of each other last year.

  5. Michelle,

After losing three children I know mourning and I know grief. Mourning is missing the person you love, grief is oppression that comes to keep us stuck in the moment of the person's death rather than celebrate life.

Just as we have Bon Voyage parties for folks who are headed on vacation, my prayer is that you will have the grace of God to celebrate the biggest vacation a person can go on.

God promises His children that they can have "days of heaven upon the earth". We need to have "Days of vacation as we look to heaven".

It's normal to mourn the loss, but resist grief as it will make YOU sick and take over your life.

As King David said when his son had died, "He can't come to me, but one day I shall go to him." That's what life is. We celebrate the life we live while here, but when we head to the REAL home in heaven we should have a HUGE Bon Voyage party in place of a funeral.

Three of your closest loved ones are on the vacation of eternity. I'm just a little jealous.

The death of the saints is a blessing to God, cause they are with HIM. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!

I wonder if your loved ones will meat you with party hats or with Hawaiian Leis?
