Christmas Cookies & Apple Mini Pies

Very quickly I thought I'd post my apple version of the mini pie... Instead of making a douple crust... I did a crumb top apple and I have to say... yum-o!

And for my chocolate chip cookies, my husband brought in from the garage, a box of large mason jars. So I used them, put a red and white snowflake napkins around them and ta-dah... they are so fun!!!

I did make snickerdoodles and peanutbutter chocolate kiss cookies also, and for those I put them in a Christmas lunch bag... I didn't have time to do anything really great for them... but there is always next year! Anyway... this is my last post til after Christmas... I hope you all have a blessed Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!

MIni Pies

Again thanks to my friend, Marikay... she sent me this great idea to make mini pies... I loved it! I made cherry and apple. They are made with 8oz. wide mouth mason jars... very fun. They will be going to some family members & a few neighbors. I just thought they were very unique... plus they were so much fun to do... well... getting the crust just so was a bit interesting to do but I think they turned out delicious! So of course I had to share them with you... can't ya just smell 'em?? tee hee...

Working on my cookies now, I'll show you what I've done with them later... maybe today... it's going to a busy day - - getting ready for Santa... but I'll see what I can do!

ABC Book Of Rainee

My friend Marikay has made a few of these ABC books for her grandchildren... and I fell in love with the idea & inspired me to do one for Rainee. So, I've been working on this little "ABC Book Of Rainee" for a bit now and I'm down to the last little details... I'm trying to have it ready for Christmas day... for her to open.

She's seen me working on something, and she's seen some pictures, but she doesn't quite get it... I'm excited to give it to her. It will help her not only continue to learn the letters she doesn't know but help her relate to the ones she does. Since Rainee was 9 mos. old I've been working with her to do sign language, so I thought if appropriate that I put the ASL hand symbols on her pages... so she can continue to learn it as she learns her alphabet.

Anyway I wanted to share a few pages with you so you could see what else I've been up to. I hope it inspires you to do something special for the child in your life, like Marikays first ABC book inspired me. Thank you Marikay!

Baking, baking & more baking, oh & a package!

I've been busy... yesterday, I did some shopping for my baking gifts and got started on them... I was just about to start making my first batch of cookies when the mail-lady came and there was a package for Rainee (& Champ)... from... the Gingerbread Girl... Rainee has fallen in love with our viewer and our viewer has fallen in love with her...

Anyway, in the box was her homemade gingerbread cookies and all the fixings for Rainee to make her own gingerbread boys and girls... and she had such a blast... I piped the outline... but after that it was all her... I think they turned out pretty great... she still has more to do, but she wanted to save some for tomorrow...

So, thank you sooooooooo much Joyce (Gingerbread Girl) for being so thoughtful... Rainee really treasured it... it made her day... all she kept saying is - - I got a package... did you see I got a package!!! She was very happy... Thank you for making my dd day!!!

As for me... I was thankful for the package... because it kept Rainee busy while made my first batch of cookies... chocolate chip...then my second batch... peanutbutter kiss cookies... and my pie crust. As or today??? I have more baking to do... one more batch of cookies... Snickerdoodles....and then the mini pies... in mason jars - - apple and cherry.

Then I'll be all done with the gift buy/making... I have to package them all up and put boww and ribbons on everything... but that will be a breeze!

I hope you all have a wonderfully yummy day! And Joyce, thank you again!!!

Christmas Tree & Coffee Cup Cards...

I've been so busy this last week, with a lot of things... Christmas shopping, baking, decorating, scrapping and working on the next video... I am still working on it, but it will be out in the next day or so...

Here are couple cards I made while Rainee was busy making a few Christmas cards of her own
...

The Christmas tree is me just trying to figure out another way to make a tree... plus I wanted to use the red glitter foam stickers, I bought for Rainee or are they for me??? hmmmmmm...

The next one is a coffee mug... and actually it looks just like my winter coffee mug... It's simple & it's Red with snowflakes... It makes me feel all warm and cozy. The sentiment sticker inside is something I found and just had to use it... 'Will Work For Cookies'... and since now that I'm staying home... it seemed
appropriate....

I have been taking photo every day of everyday life in December... and I'm trying to start a mini album, like my friend Jen is doing, I'm just not as far along as she is... but after seeing her's I just had to try to find the time to make one too... I'll post what I
have in a few days, but until then, if you haven't already - you should check out Jen's album... it's.... well it's the bomb! She's been posting the pages every day... and I just fell in love with it... so I'm making one of my own...

Well, I'm off now... to get Rainee ready for school have a cup of coffee... and finish the next video.

Jen's Challenge

My friend ,Jen, has a challenge that I thought I'd do... it ends today... I've been sick this week so I didn't get the link up earlier for all of you to try... BUT, it's never too late!!! So, if you're interested in trying for a digi gift certificate and have the time TODAY to do the challenge -- you might want to give it a shot... http://jencropable.com/

I really enjoyed doing this, I haven't done a whole lot of digi scrapbooking... mostly because it was my job before I became a SAHM, but now I'm going to try doing more of it.

But, all in all I don't think I'll EVER become a full on hybrid/digi scrapper... I enjoy the cutting a pasting
process... plus it's something I enjoy doing with Rainee!!!

Anyway... here's my version of her challenge. Let me know what you think, and if you had were able to do it... I'd love to see it. Oh and yes... I'm in love with Red & Snowflakes... so I just had to use the same background as my blog...

Happy Scrapping!

Video - Flower Punch Christmas Tree Card

Lately, I've been on the prowl for a great dimensional Christmas Tree sticker... and when I couldn't find it I decided to make my own... but with what??? So, on the scrapbook night with my friends, a few weeks ago, I tried something with my flower punch. It was just what I wanted... well, almost.

So these last couple of weeks I've been perfecting what I wanted. So now, when I do a scrapbook page I'll be able to use this idea... but for the video I thought it best to show you how to make the flower punch Christmas Tree, by making a quick card.

I love the dimension of the tree. It takes a bit of patience and time... punching, sanding, glueing, but the end result, I think, is really nice. Then great thing about this tress - is you can make it any size you want... large... small... or teeny-tiny. It's really up to you and what you want to use it for... so have fun trying it out.

My blog mess up it now over... I've fixed what was wrong and I'm very happy with it! I've been wanting to do constant design changes with it... because as everyday life goes... it's constantly changing too! So, don't be shocked when you see something different or think you're on a different blog... it's still just EverydayMe...

Messed Up!

Well, I was trying to do something new with my blog... and I messed up! You could say I messed up royaly! For now I'm going back to the basics until I have time to figure out what I did wrong... should be like this for a few days - - hopefully no longer than that!

Ugh.... I'm such a ditz!!!

2 Cards & Rainee's Card for Papa!

After I re-organized my scrap room, Rainee and I did a couple of cards... I needed to to a Thanksgiving card for Rainee's teacher, then I made a card just for fun... and Rainee wanted to do one also... just like mommy's! So, this time I thought I'd show you my version and Rainee's... it's too darn cute. She made her card for her papa for Christmas.... She had way too much fun with the brads... and if there was one more space on the gingerbread man... she would have put more on... I couldn't tell her less is more... she wanted them all!!!

This is classic...MOM!

My friend Vicki sent me an email with the greatest video attached... this is classic MOM! The moment I saw it I couldn't stop giggling... I remembered my mom... and yet even somewhat scarier - doing exactly what my mom did... even when I said I wouldn't become my mom!!!

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I thought I'd share this with you... It may be about 'mom', but it reminded me of being thankful and having family. I'm thankful for my family... daughter, husband, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, dad and mom... enjoy your family this Thanksgiving!

So, whether your a mom or not... I hope this makes you giggle!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday Cards & My Full Weekend!

While working on the next video, I took some time to do a couple holiday cards. I think one of my favorite color combinations is pink and green... so I just had to try somthing. I like the pink Christmas tree... something a little different! It's something I've been wanting to do... I also thought I'd try out the snowflakes from our EverydayGive-Away... and boy are they are fun! With all the glitter on them I was able to give a few some dimension with foam tape! Much better than having them all flat.

My weekend? My weekend was full!!! I made chili, started getting ready for Thanksgiving at my house, took Rainee to the park, went the movies to see "Bolt", took Champ for a walk, went grocery shopping, worked on a couple cards and I worked on the next video... I really didn't get a chance to relax!

How about your weekend??? Did you relax? Get some Christmas shopping done? Go to a movie? What did you do? Are you ready for Thanksgiving? Where are you going or are you staying home?

Well, if I want the next video to be out this week...
I'd better get cracking...

Have a lovely day!

Check Out Jen's Give-Away

My friend, Jen, at Jencropable has another great give-away on her blog... you just might want to check it out! She's drawing the winner on Friday, so you still have time to put your name in the hat. Go on... check out her Tuesday blog give-away! And while you're there you'll want to check out her fabulous photos and scrapbook layouts!

By the way, I won her last give-away... and Jen, I want to say Thank you!!! Very exciting!!!

Christmas Toy Catalog or Dooney and Burke

I don't know about you, but we've been getting the Christmas toy catalogs in the mail almost everyday... and Rainee is having blast with them!! She can sit for hours looking at all the toys, and telling me what to to put on her Santa list.

Watching her reminded me of when I was a kid, and the Sears Christmas Catalog would come in the mail - my siblings and I would goggle over it for days and weeks before Christmas... it's a memory I'd forgotten, but one so vivid. So when I saw Rainee doing the exact same thing... I started thinking...

Even as an adult I indulge in a few catalogs - just yesterday I was treating myself to the possibility of a new Dooney & Burke Handbag... not that it will happen, but just reveling the possibility... then practicality set in... but it still put that same smile on my face, just like the toy catalog did for Rainee.

Isn't it delightful, how something can trigger a sweet memory of your childhood and make you smile. Isn't it amazing that through the generations, we all do the same thing... the catalogs may have changed along with the toys, but we all indulge in the same things... the sweet, simple joys of wishing...

What are you wishing for this Christmas - even it the possibility is unlikely... what is your wish?

MIni Book

The Journey of My Everyday Life ~ This is the mini book I did for the Scrapbook Etc. Challenge & Contest... I was looking at it last night and realized I never actually posted the book... AND what got me thinking about it was I got a huge package in the mail yesterday... it was my contest prize package!!! whoo hooo!!! It was filled with so many goodies I can't wait to get started using them. Anyway, the mini book is bits and pieces of my life, but I loved how it turned out.

Let's see, what else is going on... I had a rough night last night - and didn't get much sleep... Rainee is sick. She woke up Saturday night with a bit of a cold, and was feeling better yesterday - but I think she over did it yesterday (she was feeling better) and last night it really hit her... so I'm
tired and will be taking the day to rest with her.

Today... enjoy your everyday moments. Whatever it is... a cup of coffee with a friend, taking your kids to storytime, taking your dog for a walk, enjoy the quiet moments and the ones that drive you crazy... because the everyday journey of your life goes by much too quickly!

So, whatever your day brings... Enjoy it!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Last night I had my friends over for a scrap night and it was a lot of fun! Jane brought her daughter, Nicole, so Rainee had fun playing and doing crafts with her. Everyone got something done and before the night was done, everyone decided to make the the gingerbread card... all in all it was a great time!!!

Santa's List

Every year we do a "Santa's List" and this year is not exception. So when Rainee found the toy catalogs that were sent in the mail... she asked me can I put in on my list? And realised we still had to make our list for Santa...

So before it gets filled with all her wants, I thought I'd show it to you because once I start putting her most favorite things on it - she won't let anyone touch it again...

except Santa - of course!

I'm having my friends from my 'work' come over tomorrow to scrapbook and I have a ton of things to do to get ready... and of course Rainee and I will be baking one of her favorites -
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread... I can smell it now, yum!!!
I can't wait to dig in...

If my day goes according to plan I should have time to finish Rainee's "Naughty or Nice" list... I'll tell you about that when I post it... Never done one before... so should be interesting!

Anyway, I need to get started on my day...Yeah, it's Friday -
I hope yours is a great one!

Gingerbread Card & Pin

Since I haven't posted a video in awhile I thought it would be fun to also do a Holiday Card along with the Pumpkin Patch Video...

These gingerbread men pins are something I've done for years... So, when I started thinking about doing them again this year my mind went on overdrive to see how I could incorporate them into a card... and this is what I came up with!!!

My thoughts were to put these cute little gingerbread men on a plate... for Santa! So here is my interpretation of it! And I think they turned out just "YUMMY"... tee hee!!

So instead of waiting I thought I'd share my "Gingerbread Man Card & Pin" video with you all right away!!! I hope you like it as much as I do and you'll try making some for someone this holiday season. If you do please let me know how it turns out… and send me links to your pics!

Happy Holidays.

Pumpkin Patch Layout

I know it's been a bit since I posted a video, but I've had a hard time getting use to being home and I'm trying to figure out a schedule that will work - doing everything I want and need to do. So, I'm sorry I'm a bit behind, but everyday life can sometimes get away from you.

This layout was done with last years Pumpkin Patch photos. Yes, I'm behind on my scraping, but hoping to get more done now that I'm home. Don't know if it will happen... just keep hoping!

I love these photos of Rainee... she looks forward to going to the PP every year... it's a tradition... She loves riding in the wagons, picking the perfect pumpkin that's just right for her. Then we enjoy all the fun things there are to do... horsey rides, feeding the goats, rabbits, pigs and ducks. And then of course there is the BIG BOUNCERS... she always has a blast!!!! We don't have much a fall here in California... no beautiful fall leaves, and sometimes it takes awhile for it to even get that nice crispness in the air... so the pumpkin patch is generally our big fall outing as a family. Definetely something to look forward to!

Hope you have a wonderful fall season. That you take time to enjoy the leaves, the pumpkins and the crisp weather.

Happy Fall!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

My Birthday... it's started with my husband giving me breakfast in bed & my present... a beautiful necklace from Tiffany's!!!

He had a theme... Breakfast At Tiffany's. How very sweet.

And here I was thinking I was going to get a new camera case... but this was a huge surprise... I love it! I'm very lucky. I know there are times when he can be difficult, but then who isn't... when he does things like this it reminds me of how much he loves me and how blessed I am.

Don't know what else is in store for the month, but I'm sure whatever it is... it will be great!

I love you, Steve.

Latest Rainee & Champ Photos

When Champ came in for the night, he was laying under the table and there was Rainee snuggled up too... it was too cute, I had to take photo!!!
